BANK OF AFRICA LAUNCHES “MIAMALA NI FURSA” CAMPAIGN TO BOOST MOBILE BANKING

Bank of Africa - Tanzania has launched a three-month mobile banking campaign titled “MIAMALA NI FURSA”, aimed at promoting the use of digital banking services. The initiative offers customers a chance to win weekly cash prizes through lucky draws simply by transacting via the B-Mobile App. The campaign reinforces the bank’s commitment to financial inclusion and customer loyalty. In a strategic move aimed at deepening financial inclusion and accelerating digital banking adoption across Tanzania, Bank of Africa – Tanzania has officially launched “MIAMALA NI FURSA”, a dynamic three-month mobile banking campaign designed to reward customers for everyday digital transactions.

The campaign, which officially kicked off on 4th June 2025 and will run until 3rd September 2025, offers exciting cash prizes to incentivize the use of the bank's mobile banking services — particularly the B-Mobile App and USSD platform.

Turning Transactions into Rewards

Speaking at the launch event in Dar es Salaam, Mr. Lameck Mushi, Chief Digital Officer at Bank of Africa – Tanzania, shared the motivation behind the campaign:

“We wanted to build something that goes beyond traditional banking — a campaign that makes mobile transactions exciting, rewarding, and meaningful. That’s why, with MIAMALA NI FURSA, customers can now win real prizes simply by doing what they already do—banking on their phone,” he said.

Every week, five customers will each win TZS 50,000, and at the end of the campaign, one grand prize winner will walk away with a cash prize of TZS 5 million.

To enter the weekly draw, customers must:

  • Complete at least three (3) bank-to-wallet (B2W) transactions.
  • Make at least one (1) additional transaction of a different type (e.g., bill payment, airtime purchase, or LUKU electricity payment) — all via B-Mobile within that week.

To qualify for the grand prize draw, participants must:

  • Complete at least 36 bank-to-wallet transactions.
  • Make 12 additional non-B2W transactions via B-Mobile throughout the campaign period.

“All you need to do is register for mobile banking with Bank of Africa,” explained Mr. Mushi. “Customers can self-register by downloading our ‘B-Mobile (Bank of Africa Tanzania)’ app from the Play Store or App Store, and following the simple steps. It’s fast, seamless, and now, rewarding too!”

Empowering the Everyday Customer

Mr. Asupya Nalingigwa, Head of Retail Banking, emphasized the campaign’s accessibility and its alignment with the bank's commitment to supporting everyday financial habits:

“We’re bringing banking closer to the daily realities of Tanzanians. Whether you’re paying bills, sending money to family, or buying airtime — your transaction could now put cash in your pocket. We’re here to reward loyalty and everyday action.”

He also assured customers of nationwide support:

“Our staff across all branches are ready to assist with onboarding. Whether you need help registering, using the app, or understanding the benefits — we’re here for you. Even customers in remote areas can fully participate. Your mobile phone can now be your bank branch — and every transaction could bring a reward.”

Driving Financial Inclusion Through Innovation

Ms. Nandi Mwiyombella, Head of Marketing and Communication, underlined the broader impact of the campaign:

“This isn’t just about prizes — it’s about participation. MIAMALA NI FURSA promotes financial empowerment by encouraging more Tanzanians to adopt digital banking in a fun and accessible way.”

With millions in cash rewards up for grabs, Bank of Africa – Tanzania is inviting all customers to embrace the convenience of mobile banking — and win while they’re at it.
