About Rotary Dar Marathon

The Rotary Dar Marathon is organized annually in partnership between Bank M with the Rotary clubs of Dar es Salaam since 2009, as a platform for raising funds for various community development projects. The RDM has grown exponentially year after year and has now achieved an iconic status, becoming a permanent fixture in the city’s calendar of events whilst ensuring the success of all social programs funded by its proceeds. The Marathon is essentially leveraged to raise funds for development activities on a long term basis which highlights the innovation in the approach to CSR and cements this occasion as a permanent event to attend in the subsequent years. Since its inception in 2009, the proceeds from the RDM have been utilized towards the several initiatives such as planting of trees, providing water and sanitation facilities to schools, setting up a state of the art Children Cancer ward at the Muhimbili National Hospital which is one of the best Pediatric Oncology facility in the African continent, also the newly refurbished and well equipped Rotary Entrepreneurship Centre at the University of Dar es Salaam.
